Top Ten Tuesday: It's All About the Relationship
Tuesday, August 20, 2024
Bonjour tout la monde, this week’s topic for Top Ten Tuesday is a Relationship Freebie, in which we get to choose a bookish relations whether it’s characters we’d like to date, or be friends with, or who would be our enemy. Even bookish families we’d love to be a part of.
I guess the obvious for me at least, is families I could imagine being a part of any number of bookish families:
- The Bridgertons from the series written by Julia Quinn. I mean, who wouldn't want to be in this family, come on!
- The Bennetts from Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austin, another crazy, dysfunctional but loving family.
- The LeBlancs from All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, a family of strength and struggle during a time of horror.
- The Marches, of course, from Little Women by Louise May Alcott, a book that really gets to the heart of sisterhood and all that means.
- Then there's the de Luce family from Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce series, which I loved.
- And who doesn't love the Pevensies, the four adventurous siblings who travel to Narnia in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe? Don't you want to go to Narnia? I know I do.
- I should also mention, the Darlings from J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan series. I'd happily go take a look at Neverland, wouldn't you?
- Then, of course, there's the Weasleys from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. A family not too dissimilar to my own real life family, minus all the magic of course ... and dragons, and Hogwarts!
- Of course, I have to mention House Atreides from the Dune series, though I'm not sure that's a great choice of family to want to belong to.
- And finally, can I sneak in the Gilmores from the Gilmore Girls? Can I at least live next door to Rory and Lorelai, pretty please?
